What services do Midlothian Women's Aid offer?
We are committed to delivering a high quality service to women, children and young people.
Refuge
Whilst living in refuge, you have access to a named worker who will discuss your individual support needs.
We have three types of refuge accommodation:
- Shared accommodation – a house in which different families have their own bedroom but share facilities including kitchen, living room and bathroom.
- Satellite Flat – a flat within community that is used to accommodate one family, we try to use this accommodation for larger families.
- Self contained Flats – five flats within the same building. These flats are suitable for single women and families. We have one flat that is wheelchair accessible. This building has communal facilities and on site office.
When women leave our refuge accommodation, we offer women continued support for an agreed period.
Appointments
We have two support centres (Dalkeith and Penicuik) that provide a place for women to access trained and experienced workers to discuss their situation.
Dalkeith also has a drop-in every Monday from 1.00pm-3.00pm, Penicuik drop-in will start from January, every Wednesday from 10am untill 12 noon.
To find out how to make an appointment, please see the Make an appointment page.
